Great stories happen to those who can tell them.
— Ira Glass

A note from our founder…

After working at leading global PR firms, I founded SWPR in 2006 with the idea that the business of communications doesn’t have to be pushy or salesy, impersonal or transactional. Journalists are wicked smart people looking for compelling and meaningful stories to tell. I wanted to do PR differently. So off I went to seek out clients who were up to cool things and making a positive impact in the world. And I have.

These have included Fortune 500 CEOs looking to build more inclusive workplaces, children’s book authors raising awareness of rare diseases, restaurant owners who want you to feel at home, military veterans giving back to their brothers and sisters, Hollywood fashion designers, women pioneers, global leaders of nonprofits, and what seems like just about everyone in between. It has been a privilege to know these people and share their stories.

I’ve loved collaborating with so many brilliant journalists, too. I enjoy being their strategic planning partner, which has resulted in creating honest and easy relationships. They trust that SWPR’s clients will add invaluable expertise to their stories, so they come back to us time and again.

I enjoy working with diverse leaders and entrepreneurs to amplify their voices in the media. I’m proud to support the good work of Catalyst, a global nonprofit with a mission to build diverse and inclusive workplaces, as its U.S. communications consultant for more than a decade. I’ve partnered with global PR agencies to support their Consumer and Healthcare practices, and also led communications programs for mission-driven nonprofits and small businesses that earned brand-defining media coverage. A career highlight included my work with the Women’s Media Center, the nonprofit advocacy organization founded by feminist icons Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem, as media director on national campaigns.

With each passing year, SWPR’s network has strengthened and expanded. I’ve attracted a talented virtual staff and have met some of the smartest PR and media consultants in the industry.

I am always honored to tell your stories and make them shine. Thank you for being a part of the journey.
